Three Days
In this beginner workshop, get a taste of what pottery is all about. You will learn the foundational steps of creating pots on a wheel: how to wedge clay, center, pull and shape a basic clay cylinder. Woven Pencil Holder

Bowls, Bowls, Bowls
Two Days
Learn how to make bowls in this weekend workshop. On Saturday, throw a series of functional soup bowls and one large serving bowl, and on Sunday, trim them. Engineering and aesthetics will be covered in this hands-on workshop. This workshop is suitable for experienced students who are comfortable working independently on the wheel and can throw a balanced cylinder. Clay and bisque firing of your bowls is included. You will receive an email from Place des Arts when your bowls are ready for pick-up approximately two weeks after the class end date. This workshop does not include Open Studio access. Intro to Glaze Chemistry
Four Days
This class will introduce potters and hobbyists to the world of glaze chemistry. You will become familiar with the materials and recipes that make cone 6 glazes and learn about colour development. At the end of this class, you will have a small batch of your own personal blend of glaze! This class is suitable for students of all skill levels with an interest in understanding glaze making. Please bring a respirator with P100 filters to each class, all other supplies included. This class will not cover decorative application of glazes on pottery and only test tiles will be fired.
