Teacher

Emily Mustard

Tiny Tutus Ballet

Emily started her dance career at the age of 6 at Place des Arts. Growing up taking ballet classes with Lucienne Ancyzkowski as well as jazz and technique classes, she received several awards and scholarships. She then branched out into hip hop and street jazz, which is where she ultimately found her passion.

In her last year of high school, Emily joined hip-hop training company “Kill the Lights” (KTL) run by industry professionals Ken Yung and Shauna Smith through Harbour Dance Centre in Vancouver.

After booking work in the Vancouver dance scene, including multiple music videos, movies, live performances and commercial work, Emily decided to return to team dancing and training.

Her biggest accomplishment to date was being invited to dance with an internationally renowned, all-female competitive hip-hop team called Style and Grace. Run by Carmen Forsyth and Ravienal Lescano, Style and Grace competes locally and internationally and was featured on Season 3 of NBC’s World of Dance.

Emily continues to travel and teach locally and in other Canadian cities in the hopes of spreading her love of dance to others.

With a Bachelor’s in Education from Simon Fraser University, she is now a BC certified Dance, PE and Science teacher at New Westminster Secondary. Program Overview

Discover the exciting world of tap dance through exploring rhythm, movement and musicality. The focus will be on musical phrasing, rhythm and rhythm changes, combinations and footwork while developing strength, stability and coordination. Students will perform in one-to-three competitive events (at the discretion of the teacher) and a year-end recital in June.

Classes take place in the Rehearsal Studio at Evergreen Cultural Centre (1205 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam).

Bryn Kinders

Children's Tap

Bryn began dancing at the age of two; as soon as she was walking, she was dancing! Specializing in tap dance, she has also trained in jazz, ballet, contemporary and modern dance.

Bryn has traveled the world to train with artists like Michelle Dorrance, Nicholas Young, Heather Cornell, Dianne Walker and Sarah Reich. She recently traveled to Chicago where she attended the Institute for the Rhythmic Arts and performed at the Museum of Contemporary Art alongside other professional tap dance artists and masters. In 2018, she spent three months in New York intensively training and performing in tap dance.

Bryn’s most memorable performances have been at the Vancouver Orpheum with her jazz band and in New York at the Symphony Space. She has also appeared in dance concept videos such as Spirit Break Out by Leigh Hillary Leah and Sedated by Alex Clancy, which screened at Cascadia Dance and Film Festival in the summer of 2016.

Bryn has an endless passion for the tap dance art form and its rich history and is excited to share this with her students!
