This year at Place des Arts, we have been exploring our theme of “Belonging” through some of our programs and events. This theme compels us to think about what it really means to be a part of something. To be included. To be accepted for who we are and as we are.

Belonging cannot be fostered when there is racism. Place des Arts stands with the recent Stop Asian Hate movement. We are heartbroken by the recent crimes against AAPI and Asian-Canadian communities.

You belong here. We see you. And we see the need for change.

As a start, we are committing to being part of the change by featuring the work and stories of Place des Arts’ AAPI and Asian-Canadian artists, teachers, students, staff and volunteers who have made remarkable impacts and contributions to our arts community.
