Surim is a highly accomplished cellist and an instructor with a Master of Performance degree from the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg, Germany. As a teacher, Surim values the importance of developing a strong relationship with each of her students and strives to create an encouraging and fun learning environment. She recognizes that every student is unique and aims to tailor her teaching approach to each student’s individual needs and learning styles.
Stefan Nazarevich is a musician, audio engineer, and educator. His compositions, performances, and installations utilize meticulous architectural music production to turn emergent artifacts of failing technology into aesthetic sonic objects.
Stefan’s musical journey began at Place des Arts as a student, studying with Marjory Purdy. By carrying on Marjory’s teaching philosophy mixed with his background in composing, Stefan’s goal is to pass on a love and appreciation of music to students of all ages and levels.
Learn the basics of playing the fiddle. Explore proper posture, note reading and intonation. Learn basic exercises and a variety of fun and easy fiddle tunes.
Rosie Carver is a member of the BC Registered Music Teachers Association (BCRMTA) and has featured as a soloist at many concerts throughout the years. Rosie has been a member of the Celtic group Blackthorn for 35 years and runs fiddle workshops. Rosie uses a positive approach to teaching and believes that with proper training and awareness, a student can venture into classical, fiddle, or whichever style they choose.
