The Culture of Food

Deadline: August 12, 2022 | The Quay, North Vancouver

Emerging talents, up-and-coming and established artists, hobbyists, and anyone who loves art are invited to apply for the next art exhibit at The Quay. The Culture of Food – so much of The Quay is about food, and they would love to see how artists interpret how food shapes culture and how culture shapes what food means to us. The Quay is looking for 10 artists to create paintings for BC Culture Days in the new Artist Avenue exhibit space on the second level of The Quay. Submission is open to all artists of all ages who reside in Metro Vancouver. We are looking for unique, original pieces that speak to the theme of “The Culture of Food.”

2023 Exhibitions

Deadline: 4:00 PM, August 29, 2022 | The Gallery at Queen’s Park

The Arts Council of New Westminster aims to have exhibitions that feature a variety of visual arts by a wide range of artists from the Metro Vancouver region. The exhibition program aims to reflect both the cultural and artistic diversity of contemporary art and serve as an educational forum for New Westminster and surrounding communities. This program is open to applications from both established and emerging artists.

The Arts Council wishes to highlight the diversity of our community, and in order to break down any exclusionary barriers and create a platform for marginalized voices, artists on the LGBTQ spectrum, non-binary artists, artists of colour, Indigenous artists, and disabled artists, are strongly encouraged to submit.

Positively Petite: Annual Miniature Exhibition (November 12 – December 15, 2022)

Deadline: September 12, 2022 | Place des Arts

Place des Arts seeks submissions from local artists, based in the Lower Mainland, who create things small and unique for the 33rd Positively Petite: Annual Miniature Exhibition. This exhibition showcases small artworks in a variety of mediums. The exhibition will be hosted in our Atrium gallery at Place des Arts from November 12 to December 15, 2022, with an opening reception on November 12. The exhibition will also be featured online at placedesarts.ca/exhibitions from November 18 – December 15, 2022.
