Place des Arts’ Flying Colours is Coquitlam’s first and only multidisciplinary arts summer camp for students with developmental and physical disabilities. As the only camp of its kind in Coquitlam, Flying Colours provides a rich, arts-infused environment where young participants can explore their creativity through visual arts and more, guided by arts educators, volunteers, and support workers. The camp’s specialized visual arts classes will help support each camper’s self-expression, coordination, and sensory development, creating a holistic and immersive arts experience.

Ages: 7 to 11 with developmental and/or physical disabilities

Date: In lieu of Flying Colours camp originally scheduled to take place from August 17-21, 2026, Place des Arts will be hosting a fully-subsidized (free!) visual arts-based workshop on Friday, September 25 from 10am-12pm.

Students will engage in various painting and mixed media projects that will help with their fine motor skills, emotional regulation and to help build self-confidence!
