My inspiration as an artist comes from my personal struggles with family, body and mind, as well as social issues that affect my daily life. I enjoy exploring all mediums with a particular love of mixed media and watercolour. My style leans towards semi-realism with bright colours and abstract compositions. I make art that calls to me, bringing to life the first idea that comes to mind in the medium best suited. My art examines the suffering we enact on ourselves and our world. The painful words we say to ourselves, the violence we bring against our neighbours and the violence we commit against our world. Pain is beauty and beautiful things deserve to become art. When my art is seen, it should be looked at for all its beauty and the depth of the experiences and emotions that make us human; suffering is the most human experience of them all.
