Artist Statement

This series, My Love Affair with Alice, draws inspiration from the tale of Alice in Wonderland. I’m drawn to the story’s themes of innocence, adventure, madness, and curiosity—elements that mirror the inner journey we all face.

Created largely in-camera, my work explores the dreamlike fantasy of the white rabbit as Alice, blurring the identities to emphasize the growing anxiety that comes with aging and the tendency to forget how to see the world with childlike wonder. Through this series, I revisit the whimsical, the surreal, and the emotional complexities of growing out of innocence while still longing to hold onto it.

This series is a reminder to let creativity be a driving force—a celebration of curiosity, imagination, and embracing the wonderfully weird. Because after all, we’re all mad here.
