A quote that has influenced my art thus far is: “Aim to be the greatest, and at the very least you shall be great.” For me, it is a reminder to push myself as an artist; constantly setting high expectations for myself, never settling for what is “good enough”. As an artist who deeply admires traditional and Renaissance art, my goal was to create art inspired by that movement. Although oil pastel and plasticine clay are a new medium for me, I created two pieces that demonstrate my understanding of human anatomy through form and colour. Through my art, I was able to demonstrate my perseverance, patience and dedication to create works of art rendered in the style and form I enjoy.
