Biography

Laura has been painting for over twenty-five years, and watercolour has always been her medium of choice. Although not formally trained, she has participated in numerous classes and workshops. She is currently on the Executive of the Garibaldi Art Club and enjoys participating in the Place des Arts alumni group, Mixed Palette.

Laura paints what she loves – her inspirations come from nature and from her family. Her portfolio ranges from landscapes, animals, and birds to children’s portraits.

Born and raised on the Saskatchewan prairies, Laura now resides in Pitt Meadows, BC.

Artist Statement

My paintings are inspired by the beauty of nature, which includes the fascinating animals that live around us. I am fortunate to have friends who are amazing hobby photographers who generously share their photos for me to paint.

I’m forever grateful to Place des Arts for many years of artistic support. I attended my first art class here in 2004 and have never looked back. The supportive teachers and staff create an environment that’s so comfortable for learning and creating.
