I have learned to exist by looking in on the real world from behind a pane of glass. From there, reflectively, I can pick apart my worldview.

Although I don’t consider myself an “outsider”, I find that I prefer observing a scene, concept or situation without truly engaging in it. Then, I can examine the details more thoroughly, and feel more sincerely. Art allows me to do that, by helping me illustrate theories and emotions that I would have difficulty explaining otherwise. I treat art like a form of worship or research; I will always capture the things that I truly revere or am fascinated by.

Much of my work begins as digital scribbles, which I eventually decide to immortalize in analog mediums. I find this process makes it easier for me to emphasize human feelings.

In the future, I hope to explore the usage of art in areas such as engineering design and graphic media. My aspirations remain broad and numerous, but above all, I intend to explore my creative abilities and possibilities in whatever endeavours I dedicate myself to, ideally in programs at RISD or visual arts at the University of California.
