I have had a passion for learning art since I was young, but I felt like I was losing my personality within the stereotypical framework of Korean art for entrance examinations. Everyone drew similar paintings with the same theme. So, I lost my freedom and felt lethargic as if I were just a painting machine. I couldn’t even paint for a while. Encouraged by my mother, I embarked on a journey to study abroad in Canada. Initially, picking up a paintbrush after several years felt intimidating. But in Canada, everyone recognized my personality and my work, and I was able to find true art.

In Korea, vibrant colours and individual expressions were considered troublesome, but here people positively accepted my art, and I regained my passion. In my artistic world, I strive to convey human emotions from fundamental feelings like joy, sadness and anger to a mix of intricate emotions. I aim to create vivid artworks that allow each viewer to experience their unique emotions. I look forward to expanding my artistic horizons by incorporating my individuality and strengths, eagerly anticipating engaging in future artistic endeavours.
