Artist Statement
I have always been fascinated by nature and the outdoors, which is reflected in my most enjoyable pursuits outside or representing the outdoors. Painting light and shadow in vivid and contrasting muted colours has me lost in the creative process. Working en plein air or from my vast library of photographs taken on location, I select scenes and areas where the contrasting play of light and shadow can be represented in vibrant and captivating colour.
