As an emerging artist from Gleneagle Secondary School, my creative journey spans a diverse range of mediums, encompassing pencil and pen sketch work, as well as oil, acrylic and watercolour painting. My artistic exploration extends further into the realms of instant, digital and film photography. A distinctive aspect of my practice is the commitment to crafting self-made materials, from feather quills to lenses and ink. This hands-on approach is rooted in my belief that true originality emerges from a personal connection with the materials involved in the creative process. Inspiration for my art is drawn from a myriad of sources, ranging from the breathtaking landscapes of our beautiful British Columbia to the simple yet profound elements of my daily surroundings, such as the mountains and trees encountered on my journey to school. Over time, I’ve cultivated a habit of always carrying my camera with me, seizing the opportunity to capture the nuances of the world around me. I firmly believe that there is a unique beauty inherent in everything, waiting to be discovered by those with eyes—or lenses—attuned to seeking out the extraordinary in the ordinary.
