During the dark months, we turn to light – a dancing candle, a cozy fire – for comfort and to lift our spirits. Even natural light has a special quality in winter: the morning sun, glinting icicles, early sunsets, stars glittering in the cold, moonlight on fresh snowfall. For some, the most cheerful of all are the lights we see during winter celebrations.

Attend Sounds of the Season to feel inspired by the surrounding winter world. Professional musician Meredith Bates will perform improvised violin with electronics while spoken word poems are performed by theatre artists, Maki Yi and Michael Vairo, as they create a fantasia of words and music capturing the emotions of light and winter. A cash bar offering a variety of beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be available.
