Linocut prints and hand embroidery in the Mezzanine

This exhibition introduces a series exploring the marriage between linocut printmaking and hand embroidery. These stylized artworks depict animals, plants, and quiet everyday moments through a warm, whimsical and tactile lens.

This work examines the juxtaposition between the qualities of the mediums: the flat surface of the print against the raised textures of embroidery; the hard, graphic quality of the print and the softness of the thread; and the temporary nature of printmaking against the long-lasting quality of the thread.
