Artist Statement

9 HOODS

A personal billboard for every occasion, celebration, corporate or celebrity branding. Made of cotton, wool or synthetic, a comfy cozy sanctuary to wear.

And…your mother knows you’re warm.

Ruffian, toughy, rowdy, thug, criminal, felon, hooligan, lawbreaker, trouble, hoodlum.

Your fears feed a fantasy making cotton, wool and synthetic, steel and bulletproof. Plotting and discourse fester beneath every cloak.

Chatter turns to murmurs within the gathering as the laughter fades away. What is left is a plea, a prayer and mourning for the tenth that did not survive.

Biography

Chrystal has a lifetime of art experience painting, carving and sculpting.

She presently explores various clay bodies, glazing and firing techniques.

She resides and works in Surrey, BC.
