Artist Statement
There is something uniquely uplifting about a flower—a simple way to brighten one’s day. This body of work seeks to capture and celebrate that joy. My process began by wheel-throwing miniature vases. I then hand-carved the flowers, which serve as the foundation of each piece. To frame these blossoms, I hand-built complementary elements—a windowsill, a vintage shelf and a weathered log. The final step was to bring these flowers to life by connecting the hand-carved heads to wire stems and leaves. Through this work, I hope to encapsulate the simple pleasure that flowers bring to our lives, offering viewers a moment of peace and delight.
