Artist Statement
Every year I seem to see more birds at my feeder, in my yard and at Colony Farm. Their attitudes and positions are fascinating, and I’ve tried to capture some of this in my paintings. While I have an academic background in ecology, birds seem to capture most of my attention these days as capturing their anatomy and pose requires great attention to detail. Matching their often vivid colour with an appropriate background in watercolour is an ongoing challenge.
Biography
Over the years I’ve taken many courses, including at Emily Carr University, Langara College, the Vancouver Academy of Art, the Dene Croft Studio and the Federation of Canadian Artists. I have also been fortunate to study at Hollyhock with Robert Bateman and David McEowen. I am an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, and the Port Moody Art Association. I work primarily in watercolours, acrylic and pen and ink.

Sales are open in-person and by phone during operating hours. Sales end at 9:00pm on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
How to Purchase by Phone

- Make note of the artist name, artwork number and title.
- Call our Registration Desk at 604-664-1636 ext. 0 to complete your purchase. Please have your credit card ready.
- A copy of your receipt will be emailed to you. Please bring it with you to pick up your artwork. Sold artwork can be picked up during operating hours until 9:00pm on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
