Artist Statement

I record and convey stories through my art. Through observation, perception and reflection, I explore current social issues and my personal values in the process of creating art. In order to discover my interests and new possibilities, I refuse to limit myself and I keep my mind open to trying new things as an artist and person, despite being intimidated sometimes.

I started my journey with digital art last year and learned to combine digital technology with traditional art media, including acrylic and watercolour, to create new artwork.

My artwork’s themes focus on things that are unpleasant, such as anxiety, depression, fear and stress, rather than happy experiences and memories. Nevertheless, my intention is to give my viewers strength to fight against destructive emotions and to let people who are suffering know that they are not alone.

Art is a unique and effective means of conversation. I use my eyes to sense and my hands to express what I think and feel; my artwork speaks for me. With each unique, varied interpretation of the world left behind by different artists, we gain a more comprehensive understanding of the world and thus live better. This is what art is for.
