Although I don’t remember many tangible memories of my older sister and I at the start of my childhood, Sisterhood conveys a type of familiar comfort that fills these gaps. I wonder what my sister was like as a child, having only seen the older, more mature version of her. I find inspiration from personal experiences, and observing and reflecting on my relationship with my friends and family. In terms of style, I enjoy the documentative, nostalgic mood brought out by realism. Personally, nostalgia may be sad, comforting or happy. Through symbols, colour and technical choices, I can evolve a photograph into an art piece that conveys this emotion. I hope the mood of my art allows the viewer to briefly pause and reflect on their own experiences.
