Artist Statement

My work captures the essence of urban life and nature, balancing between the stillness of landscapes and the subtle dynamism of human environments. Using acrylic as my primary medium, I strive to convey both the vibrancy and calm of everyday scenes, reflecting the nuanced beauty in moments we often overlook.

The urban settings I depict focus on the play of light and shadow, particularly during transitional times of day, like dusk or dawn. Broadway, for instance, emphasizes the calm yet charged atmosphere of a street corner at sunset, where the golden light contrasts with the deepening shadows of the city.

In my depictions of marinas and waterfronts, I aim to evoke a sense of quiet contemplation. The reflections on water, the intricate details of boats and the wide expanse of sky are recurring elements designed to draw the viewer into a serene, almost meditative space.

By combining realistic techniques with a focus on detail and mood, my work explores the relationship between humanity and the environments we inhabit, inviting viewers to pause and reflect on the subtle interactions of light, form and texture in the world around us.
