A Surreal Realism

Scattering through boxes of old newspapers, searching for inspiration. Feeling lifeless until I discovered an image of two vibrant macaws—colourful and free, shielding one another under their wings. Frozen in time, this moment reminded me of the bonds that protect us in life: family’s love, and determination. I chose this image not just for its beauty but for the story it shares: resilience and connection.

My work explores the balance between realism and creative freedom. The macaws represent precision and colour accuracy, yet the background offers an escape—proof that strict outlines cannot confine, an artist’s imagination. While the delicate feathers tested my patience and realism demanded unwavering focus, I pushed forward, letting the challenge shape my skills and deepen my understanding of the world.

Each piece I create reflects my growth as both an artist and a person. No artwork will ever be my “best” because each project is a step toward something greater—more skill, more experience, more connection to the beauty and complexity of life.

Realism may frame my work, but it is no boundary for my creativity. I strive to capture both precision and freedom, showing that even in the most structured forms, imagination thrives.

 My Horse

Horses have always been my sanctuary, my shield in a world so cold and wary. As a child burdened by fear and strife, my horse became a refuge that saved my life. Its eyes, soft yet oppressed with untold pain, mirroring the storms I weathered in the rain.

The clouds above swirl like dreams untamed, the mountains beneath remain free with the awakened lake. My horse strides forward with a quiet grace, a symbol of strength and tender embrace. His head in the clouds and hooves on the ground, his heart lives in the mountains while the ducks quacked aloud.

The rose represents my delicate yet complicated and layered attitude. The restless nights spent on this, placed my heart and souls in this with my skin ripped from the detailed pen-work, I used layers of blue ink to create depth and texture, allowing every line to carry emotion.is about my horse, the one who carried me through the shadows and showed me the freedom in trust and love.

This piece is not just about a horse; it is about my horse, the one who carried me through the shadows.
