At Sea
This work shows a much-loved environment of mine with multiple boats sailing amidst the ocean waters. This piece displays an example of using a different form of media to convey the scenery in a more unique light. I used many pictures of oceans, that were split into different pieces, to make one ocean alone.
An Undying Ballerina
This piece portrays a ballerina when she was young, growing up slightly, and then realizing that despite how much practice and determination you put into something, you can still fail and make mistakes. She starts off spinning, showing her talent and passion for the sport, and by the time the clock hits midnight, she has fallen to the ground. The cool toned colours represent the sadness the ballerina is feeling for her loss of motivation. I wanted to convey the message that despite having a love and a talent for something, you can still experience the burnout from always trying to improve
Double Visioned
This self-portrait shows two sides of me split down the middle. The black-and-white side represents the version of myself I have to be in order to fit into societal rules and expectations. The colored side reflects my true emotions, creativity, and individuality. Together, both sides contrast to show the tension between conformity and self-expression.
