‘Poison’ Oil on Canvas 2025

Art allows brief moments of freedom, true expression of myself and how I see the world around me. I grow and evolve through each brush stroke I make or line I draw. To me, art is the ultimate expression of self, something to nurture and grow over a lifetime; something to share with everyone willing to listen.

“Poison” is a piece made with oil on canvas, depicting an anatomical heart. This piece was a challenge I am glad I took on. Though filled with bright colours, it represents some of the depravity we live with. It is the endless struggle as we live and feed ourselves toxins of all kinds. All the bad in the world that takes root within us is depicted through various poisonous plants or weeds bursting out of the heart. While delicate and pretty at a glance, it is an expression of the underlying misery among mankind.

My work often portrays the darker side of the world and of my own subconscious, tapping into the anxiety I feel daily. Through my art, I aim to share how I view everything around me. My art is my own, it is not created to appease others. However, I aim to entice curiosity in those that view it and bring together like-minded people.
