Katie is a Vancouver-based musician and teacher with over 15 years of experience. She holds a degree in Jazz Performance from Capilano University, where she honed her skills playing jazz, classical and other genres of music. She is credited for contributions to numerous bands around the city including Spindle!, Madelyn Read and the Petrichorus and History of Gunpowder (for which she has toured internationally). She is a resident fiddler for the Blarney Stone house band and has played abroad in Italy, Nashville and Ireland. She also plays professionally in Orchestra pits for musicals with companies like Gateway, Align and Rain-city Productions. She teaches much like she plays, emphasizing the limitless nature of music in various forms and genres. She enjoys creating community with music, teaching the skills of playing with others and customizing lessons to your music preferences.
