Biography

Jacelyn’s passion for art started at a young age, blossoming as she began diving more deeply into various art methods. After a foray into pressed flower art in the early 2000s, Jacelyn began painting diligently in 2008. Although largely a self-taught painter, Jacelyn has attended many art workshops. A long-time resident of Greater Vancouver, Jacelyn joined the Burnaby Artists Guild in 2009 and has been exhibiting and selling her work in their annual fall and spring exhibitions. Jacelyn has been an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists since 2018, and her work has been shown in many juried art shows held annually.

Artist Statement

Life is like a canvas, I am inspired by the beauty I see around me and I want to reproduce what my senses perceive in nature as seen through our inner soul with colours on this canvas. I love colour, and I work mostly with acrylics and mixed media. I like to embed thoughtful textures into my artwork to convey energy, movement and a sense of beauty. Faith and nature are my guides as well as great artists like Monet and van Gogh. I hope each art piece will allow the viewer to feel the inward significance of the artwork that I create from my heart.
