Visual Arts
I am an emerging interdisciplinary visual artist and fashion designer from Coquitlam, BC. I love patterns, colours and create art in a variety of mediums including painting, murals, clothing design, upcycling vintage, collage, textile sculpture, dance, film and photography through the clothing brand/arts collective I run called Pattern Nation.
I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in visual art from Simon Fraser University (2015) and a degree in fashion design from Cape Town College of Fashion Design (2021). Since graduating from Riverside High School in Port Coquitlam, I have presented my artwork and fashion collections in galleries and on runways locally and internationally.
In addition to my creative practice, I am an arts and fashion design educator at Place Des Arts, Evergreen Cultural Center and Vancouver Community College. I also teach workshops around greater Vancouver and host a monthly Dance Jam and Art Social called AMA HOUSE. Fusing my passions for arts education, all-ages creative spaces, sustainable fashion design and interactive installation art are at the core of my creative practice.
I believe in encouraging creative expression and individuality in my students. A parent of a former student once shared, βThe creativity and initiative that you inspire and encourage have far-reaching effects while providing a welcoming, inclusive, fun and supportive environment.β I strive to create that type of experience for all my students while sharing tools with which to realize results and open doors in their imagination. As a former student of Place des Arts who grew up in Coquitlam, I am overjoyed to be teaching at the very art centre that inspired me as a young artist.
