Biography

Maureen West is a self-taught artist. Each day begins with a coffee at her easel doing a few quick sketches. She says that the most valuable lesson taught was to buy the best quality supplies possible to get the best results. Over the years she scoured libraries for books on watercolour painting techniques. It was quite an experience. Maureen has learned many techniques since then, but the most important thing she said she has learned is to “actually see what she is looking at.” That’s an art in itself.
