Artist Statement
The Canadian landscape dominates the subject matter of my acrylic paintings, but I couldn’t resist capturing the immensity of the Pacific Ocean (Dockweiler Beach, LA) within the petite format of a 4” x 6” canvas. The frames function as “windows” to the outdoors bringing another dimension to a bookshelf or wall. Many of my frames have been thrifted and restored. It is my hope that visitors will experience joy and delight with the optical illusion of nature’s immensity captured in a shadow box frame.
