Since I was little, expressing emotions was and still is a big challenge for me. I never knew how I could communicate with others about topics I don’t usually talk in a way that I felt comfortable. But throughout the years, I’ve discovered there are other ways to communicate with others, to express how I feel and that was through art.

Every time I draw, I ask myself what I want to tell the viewer with my artwork.

Usually a bit of thinking helps, but music is my key to my artwork. Music has been a part of me for a long time and has helped focus on the themes I want to incorporate in my artwork. Each time I draw while listening to music, I imagine how I want my piece to look, what colours or techniques am I going to use, how can the music I’m listening will affect the mood of the piece, what will the viewer think about it, how I want to express those oppressed emotions that I can’t express. This helps me get a better view of what I want my piece to be and how I want others to view it.
