My work mainly focuses on girlhood and adolescence. I am interested in how identity is shaped through relationships, memory, and the social pressures that accompany growing up, especially within a media-saturated environment. Drawing from my experiences as a young woman of Chinese heritage, I reflect on how cultural narratives, femininity, and visibility intersect in everyday life.

My creative process begins with observation and reflection. I collect moments that feel emotionally charged, fragments of conversations, gestures, or images, and translate them into visual metaphors. Rather than aiming for realism, I prioritize mood and symbolism, allowing intuition and experimentation to guide the work. I work across multiple media, using process as a way to think through ideas and let meaning develop organically.

What makes my practice distinct is its emotional honesty. I create work that sits in the in-between spaces: childhood and adulthood, vulnerability and resilience, softness and seriousness. Art is both a personal and communal act for me. By visualizing shared experiences of girlhood and self-discovery, my work invites connection, reflection, and empathy within my community.
