My art is spurred from a source of ‘hunger’. It is driven by a craving for the unknown—the search for answers to both ponderings of pureness and curiosity and to my sea of frustrations, anxieties, and worries— and, simultaneously, a yearning for inner peace and solace. With this feeling as my fuel, my artworks become both the products of expression and tools of acquisition to my finding my fuller self.
In emphasizing my focal points and themes, my works often utilizes repetition of symbols like extremities that suggest a hint of otherworldliness. This contrasts with the generally more realistic other components within my art.
As I create across mediums from watercolour and acrylics to stone sculptures and beyond, my pieces also undertake varying ranges of colours and vibrancy. I believe the differences between each of my pieces are reminiscent of different shades and patterns in a personal journal. Documenting the processes or conclusions from pursuing things to satisfy my ‘hunger’, each artwork is like a page in a diary.
My art, like journal pages, is created to fill something empty, and with it, I wish to connect with audiences who can relate to my experiences, past or present.
