Encaustic and carved wood in the Leonore Peyton Salon

Please note: the Leonore Peyton Salon is a multi-purpose space; therefore, viewing times are limited. Please call 604.664.1636 for viewing availability prior to your visit.

This exhibition showcases a series of encaustic painted carved feathers. These images developed from Rick’s research into encaustic painting and Egyptian burial portraits. The feathers are representative of the parts of ourselves that we leave behind intentionally or accidentally to be found by others. They are cherished, fragile moments from our lives, memories and stories. Each feather represents a part of a person’s existence. Our stories must be held gently by their caretaker.
