Natural inks, botanical collages and film photography in the Mezzanine
This body of work explores the materiality of the natural world through collage, natural pigments and black-and-white film photography.
In these expressionistic collages, foraged materials are meticulously preserved and applied to backdrops dyed with natural pigments, simultaneously celebrating the medium’s beauty and ephemerality.
In contrast to this body of work, both in technique and colour, are a few examples of my recent experiments using plant-based developers in black-and-white film photography. Images taken in nature are developed using rose hips, acorn caps and herbs.
