Paintings, Drawings and Photography in the Mezzanine
This exhibition presents a series of paintings, photographs and drawings that reflect my ongoing journey of self-discovery. Living with Borderline Personality Disorder, I experience a fluctuating sense of self, which makes it challenging to maintain a stable sense of identity. My art becomes a crucial tool for navigating this internal landscape.
Through my work, I “historicize” fragments of my momentary and dynamic subjectivity. These fragments, like pieces of a shattered mirror, reflect fleeting emotions, thoughts and experiences. By creating art, I begin the process of reconstruction, piecing together these fragments to form a more cohesive and stable sense of self.
The exhibition explores key aspects of my identity, including my cultural heritage, my experiences as a queer and non-binary person and the impact of technology on my life. Through self-portraiture, I externalize internal struggles, transforming pain and vulnerability into tangible, visual expressions.
Fragments of Self invites viewers to contemplate their own experiences with identity and witness the transformative power of art in navigating the complexities of the human condition.
