My experience as an urban planner inspires me to find joy in urban life and cityscapes. The mix of people, buildings, shops, traffic, trees and urban furniture composes the diversity of cities, and cultural events create the vitality of urban scenes.

The hardest part of working with watercolour is mastering technique, especially controlling the blending of water. I focus on painting smaller elements in detail, and in contrast, I paint larger shapes with less detail. I apply gradient colours and varying darkness to reflect the subtle changes in light within the environment. As a result, my artworks capture the mood of an urban setting while highlighting the details of the scene.

Beyond technique, I try to harness the spirit of watercolour to create exciting artworks with the atmosphere of vivid urban life. My goal is to invite the audience to enjoy the excitement of city scenes and allow them to imagine themselves as part of the painting and feel the mood conveyed.

I hope people feel inspired to find the loveliness of city life on streets, in their neighbourhood and on a walk through a city, whether it is their home or a city they are visiting.
