Psychological Symbolism represents the inner workings of the mind through visual metaphors, symbols and imagery. This exhibition delves into the complex and often unseen aspects of human consciousness such as emotions, desires, fears, conflicts and identity. This theme taps into the subconscious, reflecting the psychological states of an individual and expressing them through artistic elements rather than literal depictions.
My intent as an artist is to share with others my insights into the subjects of psychology and philosophy depicted through the symbolic imagery in my artworks. My inclination towards these subjects is partly due to my experience as an immigrant. After changing cultural environments more than once, my psychological attachment to any one country was greatly weakened and cultural belonging lost its meaning. Due to these circumstances, to a certain extent, I can look at the human mind without the constraints of cultural constructs.
