For every artwork I do, I make sure to focus on how light impacts each piece. I try to incorporate my knowledge of the colour wheel and how light can make the colours appear differently and try to replicate it to bring more realism to each of my artworks. The artwork I have chosen each demonstrate a different state of emotion, my tarot card displays solitude, my impression of Leonardo da Vinci’s painting shows peace, and my watercolour hand reveals desperation. Each piece has a woven emotion through it that resonates with me. How I approach each of my works is creating a detailed and thoughtful outline, followed with multiple layers of paint to create my finished product. My favorite style of art to try is renaissance so with my da Vinci painting, I spent a lot of time and effort to practice mimicking the techniques he uses and colour matching. I specifically enjoyed creating the look of gold using various shades of yellow paint. The reason why I created these pieces is because they were challenging in some way, and I enjoy the peace and quiet that comes with creating art.
