About Coquitlam Youth Theatre
Place des Arts’ Coquitlam Youth Theatre (CYT) is a performance-based training company made up of emerging theatre artists between the ages of 10 and 17. Company members will hone their skills in dance and movement, voice and vocal techniques, acting and character development while rehearsing for public performances presented in January and June. You’ll learn from experienced professionals, collaborate with peers in your community and be a part of an ensemble of young performing artists with the goal of creating great theatre.
The 2019/2020 Season
Winter Touring Production: The Jungle Book
Touring performances take place January 28-30, 2020 at School District 43 elementary and middle schools.
Spring Production: Oh, What a Lovely War!
Two performances on Saturday June 6, 2020 at the Inlet Theatre in Port Moody.

WHERE: Place des Arts, Coquitlam
AUDITION PREP: Audition monologues are included in the audition package. Be prepared to stay for two hours for an individual audition and a group audition. You will also be required to complete and return the audition form included in the audition package.
Each company member will be cast in both the touring winter production, The Jungle Book, and the spring production, Oh What a Lovely War. A September-to-June commitment is mandatory to be a part of Coquitlam Youth Theatre. Fees and other details are included in the audition package.
Rehearsals will run September 14, 2019 to June 6, 2020 for all Coquitlam Youth Theatre Company members. Exact rehearsal schedules for each production are included in the audition package.
CYT Faculty for 2019/2020
Place des Arts instructor Seamus Fera will lead rehearsals and direct both shows. Additional guest instructors and master artists will be working with the CYT actors throughout the season.
