Artist Statement
Challen creates multi-media images and ceramics which are often inspired by nature. These Positively Petite images are about appreciating little moments in the day. The subjects range from a cat’s antics to the sunny spiral on an ocean-misted snail or the fleeting moment when a bird lands on a patient girl’s outstretched hand. The works are embellished photographs mounted on wooden cradle panels with edges wrapped in handmade paper.
