Biography

I am a Grade 7 French Immersion student who has had a passion for art and creativity for as long as I can remember. I am a self-taught artist, and I use books and YouTube to learn about the expansive world of art. From the golden hues of autumn leaves to the mesmerizing dance of city lights at night, every moment becomes an opportunity to explore the beauty of the world through art.

I have dabbled with watercolours, oil pastels, charcoal, anime drawings, realistic drawings and creations with 3D pens. Recently, I started using acrylics as it allows me to expand out of my comfort zone and try new things. This exhibition will be my first venture into taking my art outside of my home and into the world for all to see my creative potential.

Artist Statement

Nature often serves as my muse, its awe-inspiring beauty is a constant source of inspiration. Using acrylic on canvas enables me to add texture and definition to my art to create pieces that reflect my inner thoughts and sense of wonder of the world around me.

The two pieces on exhibit represent the theme of “wonder” as one of them showcases a girl peacefully taking in her surroundings and contemplating life. In a world often overshadowed by cynicism and doubt, I offer a glimpse into a realm where possibility reigns supreme and the wonders of the universe await those with the courage to seek them.

Cherry Island reflects the wonderful season of spring (which we are in the midst of) a textured, lone cherry blossom tree in full bloom, reflecting the moonlight, bright and pink against the darkness of night. It is a moment that inspires reverence for the wonders of the world around us.
