September 22-26, 2025 (Visual Arts)
Join Leonard “Tiger” Williams, a member of the Quatsino First Nation, as he leads students through the art of traditional cedar weaving. With over 20 years of experience, Leonard will guide participants in creating a small, handcrafted item (image is sample only) while sharing the cultural significance of this sacred practice within Indigenous communities of the Coast Salish region.
October 20-23, 2025 (Music)
This workshop focuses on environmental consciousness, artistic expression and musical collaboration. Students will transform everyday household items into musical instruments, learn to play them, and collaborate in a group performance. The program not only fosters creativity but also emphasizes the importance of reusing materials and giving ordinary objects a second joyful life!
February 2-6, 2026 (Visual Art)
Explore the impact humans have on the environment while delving into the world of organic eco-sculpture. In this workshop, students will craft a unique wall-hanging sculpture using reclaimed cedar sticks and jute twine, suitable for both indoor and outdoor display. Create art that highlights the beauty and complexity of nature.
April 20-24, 2026 (Dance)
Discover how dance can be used as a form of self-expression! This beginner-friendly workshop introduces students to Kathak, one of the eight classical dance forms of India, celebrated for its grace and rhythmic precision. The workshop will start with a short Kathak dance demonstration, followed by a brief discussion about the art form’s history and key elements, and ending with students learning basic footwork, arm movements, and trying some basic spins, a signature feature of Kathak.
