For the summer of 2025 Director Michael Fera is coming back to lead a fresh troupe of talented young performers to bring to life an adaption of Munsch at Play written by Irene N. Watts. This delightful collection features classic stories such as Stephanie’s Ponytail, Mortimer, The Paper Bag Princess, Mud Puddle, and Murmel, Murmel, Murmel.
Admission is FREE, registration is required (Tickets go live on eventbrite July 1 at 9:00 AM – see each showtime below with links to get your tickets).

Michael is thrilled to be back again this summer, where he directed Munsch at Play for Place des Arts’ 2025 Summer Theatre Troupe, a program that is near and dear to his heart.
Michael has been working as an actor, director, producer and an arts administrator for over 40 years. Michael has received a number of Jessie Richardson Theatre Award nominations (Significant Artistic Achievement and Outstanding Production) and he is a recipient of the 40 Under 40 ‘Business in Vancouver’ Award. For the past 17 years Michael was the Program and Events Coordinator at Place des Arts but recently retired.
Favourite directing credits include Seventeen (Western Gold Theatre), Salt Water Moon for The Arts Club on Tour, A Christmas Carol, Kindertransport, A Boston Marriage (United Players, UP), Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Corpus Christi, Balthazar and the Mojo Star, Tartuffe, three heads talking, The Herbal Bed, The Belle of Amherst, Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding (Seattle, Winnipeg, Edmonton), Romeo and Juliet, The Maids, Macbeth, Life After Hockey, Teechers, Molly Sweeney and Medea.
Midori O’Connor – Production Stage Manager
Midori O’Connor is a technical theatre artist with a BFA in
Theatre: Design and Production from UBC and has been
working in the industry in both Calgary and Vancouver for
a few years now. Select credits include: Stage Manager for
Once On This Island (Storybook Theatre), Assistant Stage
Manager and Alternate Stage Manager for The Perfect
Bite (Secret City & Netflix), Stage Manager for King Musu
(Akofena-Afro Theatre), Assistant Stage Manager for
Heathers The Musical (STB), Production Designer for Through the Looking Glass
(Place Des Arts), Stage Manager for The How and the Why (Aenigma Theatre),
Stage Manager for Parliament of the Birds (UBC), and Assistant Stage Manager for
Something Rotten (Theatre Under the Stars).
Eve Partridge – Costume Designer
Eve is super excited to costume design for Munsch At
Play! A long-time fan of the arts and theatre, Eve loves
exploring every element of costuming and the stage. She
graduated Capilano University’s costuming program and
has since worked on several productions throughout the
lower mainland including CTORA’s West Side Story, White
rock players’ Little women and Stone Throw productions’
Hamlet. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Miles Murphy – Set & Props Designer
Miles is excited to be working with Place des Arts as Set and
Props Designer for the upcoming show, Munsch at Play. Miles
is a graduate from the Technical Theatre program at Capilano
University and has worked on shows such as Who’s Afraid of
Virginia Woolf? At Peninsula Productions as a Stage Manager and
One Man, Two Guvnors and Alice by Heart as the Props Master at
Capilano University.
Hana Lowey – Assistant Stage Manager
Hana has been an actor with the Summer Theatre Troupe for the
past two years and is excited to be tackling a new challenge as
the Assistant Stage Manager this season. They have been
working as an actor, director, and stage manager in the past and
is ready to learn from the rest of the wonderful production team.
Past credits include stage management work in Mean Girls
(Gleneagle Secondary School) and directing for Three One Act
Plays (Gleneagle Secondary School).
Maya Asuncion-Brown – Actor
Maya is an emerging actress who loves her work with
Coquitlam Youth Theater and stage productions in school.
She is actively involved in her school’s musical theater
program and attends Vancouver Young Actors’ School and
Place des Arts’ Coquitlam Youth Theater. Maya eventually
wants to pursue acting on a fulltime basis. She has
appeared in a wide range of stage productions, including
Seussical the Musical Jr., Who Killed Kevin?, Once Upon a
Pine the Adventures of Pinocchio (Place des Arts) and The Thirteen Little Pigs
(Place des Arts).
Josh Kohli – Actor
Josh is thrilled to perform and learn in Place des Arts’ adaptation
of Munsch at Play. Some of his past performances have included
Ryan Swampcrest in Kidz Got Talent with the Stage Kidz
organization. He’s also played Milky White and Mysterious Man
for Into The Woods, Voldy/Viktor for Puffs and many more fun
ensemble roles for his high school theatre program. His love of
theatre started when he participated in a Drama Club in
elementary school. He’s grateful he gets to spend his summer
doing something he loves!
Arisa Jedi – Actor
This is Arisa’s first Summer Theatre Troupe performance,
and she could not be more excited! Previously, Arisa has
performed at Metfest and in her school musical, West Side
Story. A fun fact about her is that she loves debating and
has taken part in multiple debate tournaments. She wants
to thank her family for always supporting her and all the
audience for coming to watch the play!
Dimitra Roatis – Actor
This is Dimitra’s second year in the Summer Theatre Troupe, and
she is thrilled to be back! She has been doing drama since she
was 9. Last summer, she performed the role of Owl in Place des
Arts’ production of Winnie the Pooh. Since then, she has played
Oberon in A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Velma in West Side Story,
and David in Time to Take Your Medicine. A fun fact about her is
that she does art and would love to continue at an art college.

Tasha Barham – Actor
Tasha is a proud graduate of Port Moody Secondary and
has been involved in Place des Arts theatre classes for 12
years. She’s spent nine of those years performing with
PdA’s Coquitlam Youth Theatre and plans to join Coquitlam
Adult Theatre this fall. Tasha performed in Summer
Theatre Troupe’s performance of Winnie the Pooh last
summer and this summer’s Munsch at Play will be her final
STT performance. Some past productions include Matilda,
The Little Mermaid Jr., Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Unity, Winnie the Pooh,
and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Jesse MacPherson – Actor
Jesse is super excited to join the Place des Arts Summer Theatre
Troupe. He has been involved in theatre and the performing arts
for over a decade. When Jesse started performing in elementary
school productions of Winnie the Pooh and Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory, he knew the stage was where he belonged.
Throughout high school, he has been involved in several plays
and productions including: Chaos, The Boxcar Children, The It,
Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Canker Sores and Other
Distractions, The Proposal, Love and Information, The Forests Wild, and Between the
Lines. Jesse is delighted to find new friends and connections on the stage while bringing
his favourite childhood stories to life.
Justin Luo – Actor
Justin is thrilled to be part of Munsch at Play this summer! A
musician from a young age, he recently debuted as Tony in West
Side Story (Pinetree Secondary School) and performed in the
musical theatre cabaret The Greatest Show (Moving Mirror
Productions). Although somewhat new to acting, he is excited to
continue learning and growing on stage.
