Artist Statement

With the endless diversity of clay, there are many opportunities to “play”. Whether it’s handbuilding or wheel work, Susan loves to apply texture by carving or treating the clay surface as a blank canvas and paints on it. Susan favours clean lines and makes tiny things that delight and bring joy.

Biography

Susan draws from her experience as a gardener for inspiration in her pottery. A leaf shape, a natural texture, a combination of colours and birds and mushrooms make appearances in her work. Susan is always experimenting and creates very small batches of work, making each piece unique and special.
