Puneet is a landscape and figurative painter working in the realm of realism and impressionism. Art is where her love for nature and passion for painting collide and in the midst of that collision, she finds inner stillness. Natural stillness and sounds of flora and fauna continue to draw her into plein air painting. Puneet has trained in traditional techniques of oil painting and drawing. However, she is drawn to experimentation and continues to push the medium with colour and texture. Deeply inspired by impressionists and tonalists, she creates her emotive landscapes that evoke silence, spontaneity and classical beauty.
Puneet is a Vancouver-based painter and an art educator. She spent her childhood playing with paint in her mom’s art studio in Chandigarh, India; a city hugged by mountains and inspired by Swiss and French architecture. Puneet holds a BA in Geography from the University of Victoria. After moving back to the Lower Mainland, she pursued her passion for the arts at Canvas Method. She currently works for the City of Surrey as an art instructor while developing her art practice out of her studio in East Vancouver.
