Artist Statement

In my artwork I integrate my Iranian heritage, interests and personal connections to create detailed and realistic art pieces. Primarily, I use traditional materials, such as pencils and coloured pencils, to create a realistic and familiar feel. However, I also experiment with mediums I’ve never used, and I find each new material brings out a different side of me.

Each of my artworks has a strong personal and cultural connection to myself, which makes my work unique and exciting to share with my community. I strive to integrate more and more of my core values in my artistic experiments and finished pieces.

Additionally, I make room to include and integrate personal and cultural perspectives from my family and friends. I find this process provides an authentic connected feeling between myself and my most intimate viewers. As I grow older, mature and forge a deeper understanding of who I am and where I come from, I aspire to create deeper and more meaningful artwork for myself and those around me.
