Rachael Harwood

Children and Teens Jazz and Lyrical Dance

Rachael began dance training as a child, always with the goal to follow her passion to become a teacher. Over the years, she trained and competed in ballet (Cecchetti), pointe, jazz, lyrical modern and tap. At age 14, she started as a student teacher and then, upon further training to become a certified jazz instructor, moved on to teach classes of her own.

Rachael completed the Member Exam in the Stage Division for Jazz with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association in 2013. Highlights of her dance career include dancing for the BC Lions Half-Time Show and in the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Opening Ceremonies.

She continues to hone her dance skills through on-going semi-professional classes, even while juggling her busy schedule as a dance teacher and mom to a toddler.

Rachael is excited to add Place des Arts to the list of other studios she teaches at, which include The Art of Dance Studio and The ACT Arts Centre, both in Maple Ridge. She also teaches dance fitness and choreographs original dances for weddings.
