Artist Statement
Exploration of the world around me is a never-ending source of inspiration.
My home on Hornby Island inspires me to look closer and take notice of the small details in the larger, beautiful picture, and my travels to far-away places satisfies my urge to explore the cultures and landscapes that are so different from my everyday life.
With my semi-abstract paintings, I work to capture the essence of the places that enchant me. My process allows the paintings to unfold through a mix of intuition and control, adding and subtracting layers until that essence is found.
