Linda Suffidy is a Vancouver painter and printmaker. Originally from Ottawa, she spent her formative years in St. Louis, Missouri. She studied at the Emily Carr College of Art & Design in Vancouver and graduated in 1990 with a Diploma in Painting. Linda’s prints have been exhibited in Canada, Dubai and Bulgaria. She is currently engaged in a studio residency with Malaspina Printmakers.
The disciplines of painting and printmaking intersect in my work. The structure of my paintings is “embossed paint” created by casting carved linoleum blocks with acrylic medium. In using this technique, I am mimicking the creation of an actual fossil.
